Brief
OilQuick approached us to support an ongoing animation project for a collaboration with Volvo. The goal was to refine an existing production, improve the realism of the materials, and create a clearer animation that better showcased the functionality of the attachments.
Alongside delivering the final animation, the client also wanted the source files to remain useful for future marketing content and internal rendering needs.

The Challenge
The project was delivered within a six-week production window while balancing ongoing client work.
The supplied assets consisted of highly technical STL files that were not originally prepared for animation or visualization. Before production could begin, the models required extensive cleanup, restructuring, and optimization.
We also needed to think beyond the immediate deliverable. The final file structure had to be intuitive and flexible enough for the client to continue using after project completion, allowing for future renders, colour variations, and marketing assets.

Process
My role covered asset cleanup, scene organization, rigging, material development, animation, and final delivery.
The first stage focused on rebuilding and organizing the source assets into a production-ready file. Components were cleaned, renamed, and structured to create a workflow that would remain useful long after the project was delivered.
Materials were updated to improve realism while remaining easy to modify, allowing the client to swap colours and finishes as needed. Once the assets were prepared, we developed the storyboard, refined the sequence, and built the rigging systems required to demonstrate the attachment functionality accurately.
Throughout production, we worked closely with OilQuick to ensure the animation remained technically accurate while communicating the product clearly and efficiently.
Outcome
The project was delivered on schedule and successfully met the client's requirements within the available timeframe.
In addition to the final animation, the client received a cleaner and more flexible asset package that could support future visualization work. The collaboration led to an ongoing working relationship, and I continue to support OilQuick on additional projects.
